🥍 Buccaneers Draft Lacrosse Guy

The PLL Draft is still over a week away, but a lacrosse guy was selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday night. With the 26th overall pick, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted Duke center Graham Barton, who played lacrosse at Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee.

After Barton was selected, NFL Network showed his lacrosse highlights and compared him to Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Sam Hubbard, who also played lacrosse in high school.

Barton, who played long pole defense in high school, joins a growing list of former lacrosse players who have gone pro in another sport. This proves that lacrosse is one of the best sports to play as cross-training for athletes with dreams of one day playing in the NFL, NBA, NHL, etc.

🏀 UVA Star To Join Stanford Basketball

Have we found the next Pat Spencer? Virginia lacrosse star and All-American defenseman Cole Kastner has announced his plans to transfer after this spring. He will be attending Stanford, where he’ll play on the school’s NCAA Division I men’s basketball team.

Kastner is 6-foot-7, 215 lbs. so he has the size to make it on the basketball court. He is from Palo Alto, California and was a two-sport star in both lacrosse and basketball in high school.

Currently, Kastner is a team captain at Virginia and a Tewaaraton Award nominee. He has started all 13 games and leads the team with 24 caused turnovers. His only goal of the season so far came against Johns Hopkins.

🍿 Coming Soon To ‘THROUGH X’…

Can I trust you guys to keep a secret? This hasn’t been officially announced yet, but we’re dropping two new episodes of THROUGH X during the month of May — featuring Cornell’s CJ Kirst and Duke’s Brennan O’Neill.

Kirst’s episode is scheduled to drop on Wednesday, May 1, and O’Neill’s episode is slated for two weeks later on May 16. Both players are returning Tewaaraton Award finalists from last year.

Earlier this spring, we dropped an episode of THROUGH X with Northwestern star Izzy Scane, marking the first time the series has ever featured a female lacrosse player. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out below.
