šŸ“ˆĀ PLL Combine Recap

Some of the best high school lacrosse players gathered at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida over the weekend for the first ever PLL Combine.

Among the participants was McDonogh attackman Brendan Millon, a Virginia commit and the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2025. Other participants ranked in the Top 10 by Inside Lacrosse included attackman Jackson Maher (Penn), LSM Robby Hopper (Virginia), goalie Aidan Seibel (Maryland) and midfielder Anthony Raio (UNC).

Players at each position went through a series of testing. Some tests were designed to evaluate lacrosse skills, while others were meant to record raw athleticism and strength. Attackman Khalif Hocker, for example, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds. Click here to see how that stacked up against some notable NFL Combine times.

Other strength and conditioning drills included broad jump, vertical jump, shuttle run, push-ups and pull-ups. Lacrosse-specific drills varied by position, but wall ball and fastest shot were a couple crowd favorites. Attackman Camp Lacorazza (Brown) had the best wall ball time at 1:42, while defenseman Patrick Kelley (Penn) recorded the fastest shot at 106 MPH.

Weā€™ll also offer a handful of weekly predictor questions. For example, one of this weekā€™s questions asks whether Duke attackman Brennan Oā€™Neill will have more points against Bellarmine than he did last season (7). As of right now, 54.5% of voters say that he will.

āš”ļø Cabriniā€™s One Last Ride

If you need a team to root for in Division III this season, you should follow the Cabrini Cavaliers. The 2019 National Champions are heading into their final season, as the University is ceasing operations after the 2023-24 academic year and will be absorbed by nearby Villanova University.

To commemorate their final season, the Cavaliers will wear these special helmet decals which read ā€œOne Last Rideā€ā€¦

Cabrini currently has 28 players on the roster, and the ā€œTOGETHERā€ on the face mask is a symbol of their bond. Former D3 Defensive Player of the Year Tommy Deluca took over as the teamā€™s head coach for the final season, after playing for the Cavaliers from 2017-2021.

After finishing 14-5 and winning the Atlantic East Conference Championship last year, Cabrini opens up the 2024 season at home against Haverford College on Feb. 17.
