How To Watch All Four Games | More NCAA Action Coming Your Way Saturday
Happy Friday, readers! To celebrate the start of the weekend, we have a killer Division I slate set for tonight. Broadcast information for the entire weekend can be found at the bottom of this newsletter, but here's a little preview of the first four games...
Michigan at Rutgers — 6 p.m. ET, ESPNU
Michigan (5-4) stunned Maryland with an upset win on the road last Saturday. Was it a fluke? The Wolverines' visit to Piscataway on Friday night will help answer that question. Rutgers (7-3) won seven of their first eight games to start the season and have since lost consecutive games to Ohio State and Johns Hopkins. A third straight Big Ten loss would sink the Scarlett Knights to the bottom of the conference.
Virginia at North Carolina — 6 p.m. ET, ACC Network
Virginia (7-2) fell out of the No. 1 spot after losing to Duke last week. The ACC appears to be a three-horse race between those two teams and Notre Dame, but North Carolina (7-3) should not be overlooked. The Tar Heels have the third-stingiest defense in Division I lacrosse (8.5 goals allowed/game) and are coming off a week of rest. UNC goalkeeper Collin Krieg could prove to be the difference in this clash of conference rivals.

Navy at Loyola — 7 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network
Navy (5-6) knocked off a ranked opponent in Boston U last Friday night; can they do it again versus Loyola (6-3) tonight? It's possible, if the Midshipmen get more fourth-quarter heroics out of sophomore attackman Henry Tolker. The Greyhounds also have a young star worth watching in this matchup, as freshman Matthew Minicus currently leads the team in both goals (23) and total points (29).
Maryland at Ohio State — 7 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network
This one could get a little weird. Ohio State (5-5) has not been great this season, but Maryland (6-3) is entirely unpredictable. This game is going to feel like a regular-season Super Bowl for the Buckeyes, with it being played under the lights at their new stadium. A second straight loss for the Terps would blow the doors wide open in the Big Ten.
😵💫 No. 1 Spot Up For Grabs...Again
A few weeks ago, Notre Dame sat atop The People's Top 20. Then, Virginia dismantled the Irish and claimed the top spot. Now, Duke is on top after beating the Cavaliers.
This weekend, we could see No. 1 switch hands yet again. Duke (10-1) visits Notre Dame (7-1) on Saturday, and the winner of that game will likely be No. 1 when the fresh rankings come out next Tuesday.

The Blue Devils have a ton of momentum heading into this ACC matchup. They've won eight games in a row, and star attackman Brennan O'Neill is building an air-tight case for the Tewaaraton Award after dropping nine points (six goals, three assists) in last week's win over Virginia.
The Irish, however, have recent history on their side. Notre Dame swept Duke in two matchups last season, with Pat and Chris Kavanagh combining for 16 points in those two games. The Blue Devils also haven't won in South Bend since 2018.

💪 Big Wins For Public High Schools
High school lacrosse season is underway, and there were a couple massive moments this week in which public schools shocked private schools.
The first example came on Wednesday night, when Victor (New York Section 5) visited St. Mary's Annapolis (MIAA) and won 13-12 in overtime. This result had many from upstate New York celebrating their hot bed as the best in high school lacrosse.

Then, on Thursday night, Darien (Connecticut L) defeated the No. 1 ranked Brunswick School (New England 1 West) on a last-second buzzer beater. We're still not sure how the shot went in, but the storming of the field afterwards was amazing to watch.
