🐬 Jacksonville knocks off No. 3 Duke

Congrats to head coach John Galloway and the Dolphins on the biggest win in program history.

Now in his sixth season at Jacksonville, Galloway has built a strong culture. He's been active in the transfer portal for years: McLean Chicquen (via Stony Brook) was the Dolphins' captain in 2017 and Matt Stagnitta (via Johns Hopkins) scored 23 goals and dished 20 assists in 2021.

This year's transfers are headlined by attackman Max Waldbaum, who scored 102 goals in 34 games at Tufts, and goalie Luke Millican, who started as a freshman at UNC prior to a season-ending injury.

Keep an eye on mid-year transfers: Cam Johnson (UMass), Marshall McGuire (Syracuse) and Luke Talago (Syracuse).

🍊 Megan Carney is Back

Dah-nuh-nuh, dah-nuh-nuh!

Megan Carney's junior year ended early due to an ACL injury. Through 13 games, she had buried 49 goals and dished 20 assists while averaging more than 5 points per game.

She is back -- and scoring behind-the-back.

It's a new era at 'Cuse for both the women's and men's programs. Alyssa Murray Cometti shared her perspective on Kayla Treanor and Gary Gait's new roles.

Howard Targets of Racist, Misogynistic Abuse at Presbyterian

“They started talking about their guns, and their scopes, and their gauges,” Howard University head coach Karen Healy-Silcott told IL. “As their coach, I had to decide ‘Am I going to have to go over there and handle this? They’re going to get worse. Or am I going to leave my girls alone to get in their own heads — because they had a game to prepare for?' I very much felt torn with what to do. I brought my kids in, talked to them about clearing out everything, I said it was something we’re going to deal with after the game, I was not going to let it go, but I needed them to focus. I’m so proud of my girls for what they did, what they endured, what they handled. It was vulgar‚ very vulgar — threatening. It is the worst experience I’ve ever had with this type of thing at any game in my entire career.”

No athlete should have to endure what the Howard women's lacrosse team experienced. There is no place for this hate.

🕷️ Richmond's 1-4-1 set: "The Greatest Play Ever"

Here's a look at Richmond running it twice on Friday against UNC. When the Spiders draw a slide, tic-tac-toe ball movement ensues.

Jamie's keys:

  1. Draw a slide

  2. Perfect spacing

  3. Feed the outlets

After Richmond draws a slide here, the spacing leaves a two-on-one between the two attackmen on the pipe. Beautiful stuff.
