🍀 IRISH LAND NEXT 'FLAX' PLAYER

Notre Dame Receives Commitment From Dylan Faison | PLL All-Stars Arrive in Japan & More

Last fall, Notre Dame freshman Jordan Faison referred to himself a “flax” player. Since then, he has established himself as a star for both the football team and the lacrosse team in South Bend.

Now, Notre Dame has another “flax” player in the pipeline: Dylan Faison, Jordan’s younger brother.

On Monday, Dylan announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish for both lacrosse and football.

Dylan is a midfielder in the Class of 2026. Like his older brother, he also plays wide receiver. Mitchell Pehlke recently posted a video on YouTube where he visited the Faison family home in Boca Raton, Fla. and shed some light on Dylan as both a player and as a person.

Last fall, Jordan Faison walked onto the Notre Dame football team and ended up winning MVP of the Sun Bowl as a freshman. Through six games with the Fighting Irish lacrosse team, he has scored 13 goals (3rd most on the team).

Looking ahead to 2027, the Faison brothers project to be lacrosse/football teammates for at least one year at Notre Dame. Jordan will be a senior in 2027, and Dylan will be a freshman.

🇯🇵 PLL Set For Japan Exhibition

The Premier Lacrosse League and Unleashed All-Stars are currently in Japan, where they are holding youth clinics and practicing for exhibition games that will take place on Wednesday, March 20.

Maryland Whipsnakes attackman Matt Rambo, who brought a custom pair of gloves to Tokyo, is one of the PLL All-Stars who will play against a select team of Japanese lacrosse players known as the Cross Crosse All-Stars. Other stars set to play in this event include California Redwoods players Rob Pannell and Romar Dennis, Carolina Chaos defenseman and 2023 fastest-shot champion Jarrod Neumann, and reigning PLL Champions Ryan Ambler and Mike Sisselberger of the Utah Archers.

The Unleashed All-Stars feature several players who just played during the 2024 PLL Championship Series, including Lizzie Colson, Ally Mastroianni, Dempsey Arsenault and Sammy Jo Tracy. Former Northwestern star Lauren Gilbert, who won MVP of the Japan exhibition game last year, has also returned for the 2024 rematch.

With this annual event, pro lacrosse is truly going global.

📉 Hopkins Sinks in Top 20

What’s going on with Johns Hopkins? After two straight losses, they’ve fallen all the way to No. 13 in The People’s Top 20. Two weeks ago, they were sitting at No. 3 in this weekly ranking.

Here’s where they currently stack up:

Also, NJIT (7-1) lost to Vermont this weekend and fell out of the Top 20. This is very sad news for many of our fans; the Highlanders’ unexpected seven-game winning streak to start the season was an exciting storyline to follow through February and March.

Other than that, there wasn’t a lot of movement in our rankings this week. Army is No. 1 for the third straight week, and the top eight did not budge an inch from last week. You can cast your vote in The People’s Top 20 by clicking the button below.

🧱 Will Mark Records 800th Save

Goalies never get enough love, so we want to give a shoutout to Syracuse netminder Will Mark. He put up some ridiculous numbers against Delaware on Saturday and now has over 800 career saves, spanning back to his days at LIU.

Mark is our TLN Player of the Week.

Mark is one of just 15 players in NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse history to hit the 800-save milestone. The all-time record is 1,077 saves, held by former Fairfield goalie Sam Peterson (1994-97).

Syracuse is 7-2 on the season, and Mark’s efforts in net are a big reason why.
