šŸ¤¬ OHIO STATE GLOVEGATE REVENGE?

Maryland is set to visit Columbus for the first time since the infamous 2023 "Glovegate" controversy.

The red-hot Ohio State Buckeyes are hosting Maryland this weekend, and you can bet the gloves will come off match.

Saturdayā€™s matchup will mark the first time these two Big Ten rivals have met in Columbus since the infamous 2023 ā€œGlovegateā€ controversy, in which Maryland head coach John Tillman pointed out late in the fourth quarter that Ohio State face-off specialist Matthew Fritz was wearing different color gloves than the rest of his teammates.

A penalty was called on Fritz for wearing the wrong color gloves, and Maryland ended up tying the game before the end of regulation. In overtime, then-freshman Braden Erksa scored the game-winning goal.

Watch this video for a full ā€œGlovegateā€ controversy recap:

Maryland defeated Ohio State, 8-7, in last yearā€™s rematch at College Park, but this is a different Buckeyes squad in 2025. Ohio State is 11-1 and currently ranked No. 2 in the country. They have one of the best defenses in D1, anchored by sophomore goalie Caleb ā€œBig Tastyā€ Fyock, who appeared on last weekā€™s episode of The Mitchell Pehlke Lacrosse Show.

The Terps, on the other hand, are starting to show some signs of weakness. After a 7-0 start to the season and a run at No. 1 in the country, Maryland has lost two of its past three outings, including an 8-6 head-scratcher against Rutgers last weekend.

With Maryland in danger of falling behind in the Big Ten race and Ohio State out for vengeance, this is guaranteed to be an epic matchup on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network.

šŸ‘€ Top 5 Clash Coming to Long Island

Long Island will get a taste of Upstate New York this weekend, as Mitchel Field in Uniondale is set to host a huge neutral-site matchup between Cornell and Syracuse on Saturday. Both teams rank within the top five in The Peopleā€™s Top 20, which dropped on TLN on Tuesday morning.

Hereā€™s a look at the full updated rankings this week:

Syracuse is coming off a gigantic win over Notre Dame, which drew 11,268 fans at the JMA Wireless Dome (highest attendance at any NCAA menā€™s lacrosse game this year). Star attackman Joey Spallina recorded a game-high five points (4G, 1A) while being guarded primarily by lockdown defender Shawn Lyght.

Cornell only has one loss this season (in overtime against Penn State) and has the best player in the country in attackman CJ Kirst ā€” who is now only 10 goals away from the all-time NCAA career goals record.

Whether it was the 2009 NCAA Championship or last yearā€™s overtime thriller in Ithaca, the Cornell-Syracuse rivalry always delivers. Reply to this email with your prediction on who will win this yearā€™s matchup on Long Island!

šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Itā€™s Army-Navy Week!

The most patriotic rivalry in lacrosse returns to Annapolis on Saturday. In preparation for their annual game against the Army Black Knights, the Navy Midshipmen dropped new uniforms.

Army also started the week hot by flipping five-star recruit Gavin Cooper, who was previously committed to Duke. Cooper is a defenseman out of The Haverford School. Inside Lacrosse has him ranked as the No. 10 player in the Class of 2025.

In his announcement post on social media, Cooper included a two-word caption: ā€œBEAT NAVY.ā€

Army is 9-1 and currently ranked No. 5 in the country. Although Navy is unranked, the Midshipmen are a feisty 7-3 on the season and actually upset Army in overtime in 2022. The Black Knights have claimed each of the past two meetings since then.

šŸ“ˆ New No. 1 in Womenā€™s Lacrosse

Thereā€™s only one undefeated team left in NCAA Division I Lacrosse (menā€™s or womenā€™s): The North Carolina Tar Heels (12-0).

North Carolina defeated the reigning champions Boston College, 12-11, behind the efforts of eight different goal-scorers at Dorrance Field on Saturday. Among the fans in attendance was UNC football head coach Bill Belichick.

Bill Belichick was in attendance for both UNC games on Saturday.

In fact, Belichick spent all day at Dorrance. After the womenā€™s game wrapped up, he stuck around and watched the menā€™s team trounce Virginia by a final score of 18-9.

Thatā€™s a true lacrosse guy.
