📈 Paul Carcaterra's 2022 PLL Draft Big Board

Paul Carcaterra dropped Version 1.0 of his 2022 PLL Draft Big Board.

Chris Gray (UNC) and Matt Moore (Virginia) are the consensus top 2 picks.

Brendan Nichtern (Army) dropped 4G and 2A on Syracuse on Wednesday. Will Manny called him a mix between Jordan Wolf and RP3. More on Nichtern in this week's film breakdown.

Alex Poole thinks Koby Smith (Towson) is too low. We're patiently waiting to see how his stock rises before Carc's Version 2.0.

🧙 Make. Your. Picks

Inside Lacrosse launched a college lacrosse daily fantasy contest, starting this weekend.

With a budget of $18, you must select an attack, midfielder, defender, faceoff athlete, goalie, and flex -- each valued at $5, $4, $3, $2, and $1.

Here's how games are scored:

  • Goal = 3 points

  • Assist = 3 points

  • TO = -1 point

  • GB = 2 points

  • CT = 6 points

  • Save = 1 point

🏹 Drew Adams announces retirement

4-time All-Pro goalie Drew Adams has announced his retirement from professional lacrosse. The Penn State product led the New York Lizards to the 2015 MLL Championship while saving 57%.

Adams retires as the all-time leader in saves (1,966).

For context on DA's greatness: Blaze Riorden has averaged 15.5 saves per game in his PLL career. It'd take him 89 more games at that pace to pass Adams.

Congrats, Drew!

📽️ Film Study: Brendan Nichtern's versatility

Brendan Nichtern (4G, 2A against Syracuse) combines physical dodging with premier passing vision. He's ranked 3rd overall on Paul Carcaterra's Big Board -- and although Army commitments may lead to a brief pro career, Nichtern will have a huge impact on a team this summer.

Some of the best rookies have been attackmen-turned-midfielders. Stephen Rehfuss and Brad Smith. Invert threats. Guys who haven't seen a short-stick since U9 and are ready to feast on inferior matchups.

Nichtern can be that invert threat out of the box. He's savvy in the pick-n-roll at X. Watch him catch and hitch from below GLE. This clip explains why his nickname in high school was "Rob Pannell."

Nichtern can play anywhere in that 2-2-2 set: In the pick-n-roll at X, inside on the crease, or up top ready to rip a shot.

He shoots like he's angry at the cage. This time-and-room bullseye is money.
